Welcome

Dear partners and friends,

I pray the Lord will strengthen and anoint you to continue to walk with His Holy Spirit and abide in faith in His precious, covenant promises.

Japan

We are really having a wonderful time of ministry here with Kobe Full Gospel Church, in Kobe, Japan. We are experiencing a strong teaching anointing and wonderful fellowship in the love of the Holy Spirit. I am teaching a series entitled "Receiving the Love and Power of God", and also conducting a seminar on the subject of "The Gift of Righteousness". The church recently had its second year anniversary, and we are assisting through teaching and encouraging the believers and helping the leadership in developing strong biblical foundational structures and strategic doctrines to experience the Lord's love and power. The Japanese Christians, though a minority in this beautiful land, are a great example of love, joy and dedication in the Holy Spirit.

Letter to Australian Federal politicians

This month I personally emailed 43 Senators, and 67 Members of the House of Representatives, of the Australian Federal Parliament. We addressed each member officially and personally, and included in the letter the September 2015 teaching, entitled "A Biblical Perspective of Homosexuality". The cover letter said:

Dear Senator… / … Member of the House of Representatives,

I pray the Lord will grant you strength and wisdom to discern His anointing, to be able to discern His truth, in this hour (1 John 2:27).

I am an Australian, Christian minister who since the year 2000 has been preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in twenty different nations, full time for the past 13 years. I am writing to share with you our Creator God's perspective regarding homosexuality, as revealed in the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible.

The reason I feel led to write to you is because I am concerned for the moral well being, and future prosperity of our nation. The Scripture says:

Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people

Proverbs 14:34

As is revealed in the following article, "A Biblical Perspective of Homosexuality", our Creator God regards homosexual, sexual intercourse as sinful. In fact, a careful study of Scripture reveals that God's judgement, at times, has fallen upon the cities and nations of those who engage in homosexual, sexual union. I perceive that if Australia goes down the path of legitimizing homosexuality it will only be a matter of time before God's judgement will fall upon Australia and we will be humiliated. As the Scripture says:

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall

Proverbs 16:18

Australia has a rich and honourable Christian heritage, and it would be a tremendous shame if, through lack of good counsel and judgement, our leaders squandered the righteous foundation and advantage we hold by leading us down a path which God says is evil and wicked. Thus I offer you God's counsel to assist you in your role of leadership of this great nation of Australia, under God.

The Lord bless you and Australia,

Rev. Andrew J. Shreeve

Teaching - Specific Faith

There seems to be a lack of knowledge within the body of Christ regarding "specific faith". Many Christians think that if they have general faith in Jesus Christ that this general faith is sufficient to bring the power of every promise of God into their lives. They then reason that if they are not receiving the fulfilment of the Lord's promises it is because the Lord has decided not to release His power to them. In this article I reveal the fallacy of this thought process, and explain how we need specific faith in each of the Lord's promises to receive the power of each promise.

General faith in Jesus Christ qualifies us for every promise of God, but doesn't necessarily cause the release of the Lord's power so we can experience every promise (2 Corinthians 1:20, Hebrews 6:12). Specific faith, and patience, is needed in each individual promise to bring its power into our lives. It is obvious when we look at the church that not every born again, righteous person is receiving every promise of the Lord. All born again Christians experience circumstances contrary to the promises of the Lord. The reality is that we are in a spiritual battle over receiving the Lord's promises. All Christians need specific knowledge of God's covenant promises and are required to engage in precise acts of faith, spiritual discipline and warfare to appropriate the promises which Jesus has attained for us.

Spiritual battle

The Scripture describes the Christian life in terms of a spiritual battle where we wrestle against wicked, devil spirits. We are instructed to put on God's spiritual armour, to stand… and to take the shield of faith. These are actions which we need to do to be successful (Ephesians 6:10-18). The implication is that if we lack knowledge of how to put on God's armour, if we don't take hold of the armour and don't stand against the attacks of the wicked, devil spirits we will NOT experience the victory which Jesus has secured for us.

Many members of the body of Christ are unlearned and unskilled in taking up the armour of the Lord. Subsequently, many Christians suffer attacks by the devil spirits and experience defeat, living far below the level of blessing which Jesus secured for His beloved body through His suffering, cursing and death on the Cross of Calvary (Galatians 3:13-14).

Part of this lack of understanding is centred upon the subject of righteousness, and our related authority over the devils spirits and their attacks (Isaiah 54:14). Righteousness is God's gift to us which is imparted to our spirit when we exercise faith in the shed blood of Jesus, faith in Jesus' resurrection, and confess Jesus as Lord and Master over our lives (2 Corinthians 5:17, 21, Romans 5:17, 1 John 3:9). This general faith in Jesus Christ gives us the gift of righteousness, which qualifies us to be worthy to inherit every promise of the Lord (2 Corinthians 1:20). However, just because we are worthy to receive every promise doesn't mean that we automatically receive the power of every promise.

Faith needs to be specific to draw God's power! To receive the power of a promise of God we need faith in that specific promise. It is like different kinds of seed. Seeds are specific. Carrot seeds will only ever produce carrots, never potatoes. To get potatoes we need to plant potato seeds.

Righteousness qualifies us to receive every promise of God BUT we still need to plant the seeds of the individual promises in our heart to receive the power of each promise. For example, a born again believer is entitled to receive physical healing based on the work of Jesus through the Cross of Calvary, and the promises of healing from the Lord. But physical healing does not automatically fall upon every born again believer. Many born again believers suffer and die of sickness and disease. To receive physical healing from the Lord, specific faith in God's promises of healing needs to be developed in our heart. If a born again believer does not develop specific faith for physical healing, they probably will not receive physical healing from the Lord.

Let's look at the example of wisdom to illustrate this principle of specific faith. The scripture says Jesus Christ is made unto us wisdom:

But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom

1 Corinthians 1:30

Because we are in Christ Jesus we have access to wisdom. But it is painfully obvious not every Christian has received this wisdom. The book of James teaches us that to receive this wisdom we need specific faith in receiving wisdom:

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think he shall receive anything of the Lord

James 1:5-7

Even though Jesus Christ is made unto us wisdom it still requires faith for wisdom to receive the wisdom. It is the same for every promise of the Lord. Physical healing has been freely given to believers in Christ, but it still requires faith in healing to receive the healing power (Matthew 8:17). Financial provision has been made available through the gospel but it still requires specific faith in the promises of financial provision to experience the power of the Lord's provision (Matthew 6:30, 33, Philippians 4:19, 2 Corinthians 9:8, Hebrews 6:12).

Specific faith

How then do we receive this specific faith? We must plant and cultivate the specific seed in our heart which promises us the power of God in the area of our need (Mark 4:26, Romans 10:17)! God's seed contains, and will produce, God's faith. When God's faith is present in our heart in any specific area we will automatically draw God's power into our lives in that specific area.

The specific knowledge of God's promises is needed to access more of God's grace, peace and power (2 Peter 1:2-4). Many Christians fail to receive God's grace, peace and power in many areas of their lives. The reason is because they have failed to plant and cultivate the seed, to receive the revelation knowledge, of the covenant promises in each specific area. They haven't experienced the fruit because they haven't planted and cultivated the spiritual seed of God's promises to develop the specific faith in their hearts which is needed to draw the Lord's power.

Conclusion

God has provided everything we will ever need for living an abundant, blessed, and prosperous life on this earth. God has made His supernatural power available to us. We access God's power through faith. Faith comes from the spiritual seed of God's covenant promises. We are responsible for the planting and cultivating of the spiritual seeds in our heart. We have obtained righteousness through the new creation in Christ Jesus. This gift of righteousness qualifies us to receive the power of every promise of God. However, we still need to diligently establish our hearts in God's promises if we want to partake of the many benefits of belonging to the Lord's kingdom. Specific faith in each promise is needed to guarantee the receiving of the power of God in each specific area of our lives.

Prayer

Dear Father God, thank you that you have freely made available your supernatural power for every need I will ever face in this life. Please open the eyes of my understanding to realise that I need to plant and cultivate the specific seeds of your manifold covenant promises in my heart, to obtain the specific power which is promised in each spiritual seed. Thank you that your seed will produce your faith, and your faith will draw your power into my life. I love and bless you in Jesus Christ name, Amen.
