Dear partners and friends,

I pray the Lord God Almighty will anoint you with His Holy presence and fill your heart with His eternal, and boundless, love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. I pray that in 2018 you will be strengthened to boldly declare the incorruptible and eternal Word of the Lord, to bring salt and light into a world which desperately needs deliverance from the power of darkness (Matthew 5:13-16, Colossians 1:13, Ephesians 6:19).

We finished off this year, 2017, with a wonderful time of teaching and rich fellowship with BEM Grace Church, Kuching, Sarawak, Borneo, Malaysia. In addition to three Sunday services, and additional services translated into the Chinese and Bahasa Malaysian languages, we had approximately 13 hours of teaching, in English, covering the following subjects: Integrity of the Word of God, Seed Principle, Righteousness, Meditation, Armour of God, and Binding and Loosing. It was great to have this length of time to explain these important, biblical concepts in detail. We also moved an additional 66 copies of my Biblical meditation books, in the English and Bahasa Malaysian languages, into the church. Praise God, a lady also gave her heart to the Lord at the concluding meeting.

New Website – Over the past few months we have been working on a new website. Praise the Lord, primarily thanks to our website designer Enoch Lavender of , we have launched the new website this month. Enoch is a committed Christian and is based in Melbourne, Australia.

Our hope is you will find the new website attractive, easy and efficient so that you can freely access our anointed, teaching resources in the written, audio, and video formats, to help bring your life into unity with God’s loving and powerful New Testament, covenant promises. When Jesus said seek ye first the kingdom of God, He means that we are to give first priority to the planting, and continual cultivation, of God’s Scriptures in our mind, imagination and spirit (Matthew 6:33, Mark 4:26). As we obey Jesus, in this way, 2018 will definitely be a year of blessed increase and fruitfulness for, our personal lives and, the Lord’s eternal kingdom.

With love, Andrew

Teaching – Jerusalem, part 1

Copyright © Andrew J. Shreeve 2017

With the recent announcement by USA President Donald J. Trump, recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and pledging to move the USA embassy to Jerusalem, we are witnessing a profound moment in human history. The United States of America is currently the world’s only super-power, leading the world in economic and military power. When the strongest world power recognises Jerusalem as the legitimate capital of Israel, we would be wise to pause to savour the moment, and place Jerusalem in her historical context, so we can more accurately appreciate the hand of God at work, in our generation.

Meaning of Jerusalem

Jerusalem contains two verbs ‘yara’ and ‘shalem’. ‘Yara’ means to “throw, cast or shoot”. It reflects “an exchange of energy, from a higher dispensing level to a lower, receiving level.” The root verb ‘shalem’ “denotes completeness, wholeness and soundness.” A derivative of this root is ‘shalom’ ( ).

Historical, biblical context of Jerusalem

  • Jesus’ crucifixion

God… said unto… Abraham… take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of

Genesis 22:1-2

The offering of Isaac, by Abraham (and Isaac’s resurrection from the dead, in a figure), is a type and shadow of the offering of Jesus of Nazareth, on the Cross of Calvary, (and Jesus’ subsequent resurrection from the dead) by God the Father (Hebrews 11:17-19).

o   The Lord told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac upon one of the mountains in the land of Moriah.

o   Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in Mount Moriah (2 Chronicles 3:1).

o   These Scriptures reveal that Jerusalem is located in Mount Moriah, which is the same location where God told Abraham to offer Isaac.

o   Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, nigh to the city (Jerusalem) of Jerusalem in Mount Moriah (John 19:17-20, 2 Chronicles 3:1).

o   Both the sacrifices, of Isaac (in a figure) and Jesus, were on the land nigh to where to city of Jerusalem is presently located.

Howbeit I believed not the words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the half was not told me: thy wisdom and prosperity exceedeth the fame which I heard… blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighteth in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the Lord loved Israel forever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgement and justice

o   For more than four and half centuries a king of Israel, or Judah, reigned from Jerusalem the capital of Israel and the Jews.

Kings of Persia

  • Cyrus King of Persia (approx. 539 BC – 530 BC)

Thus saith Cyrus King of Persia, the Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build Him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah… build the house of the Lord God of Israel (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem

Ezra 1:2-3

Cyrus the King of Persia recognised Jerusalem, in Judah, as the place where the Lord God of Israel resided, and wanted His house built.

  • Darius King of Persia

Then Darius the King made a decree… let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God… God that hath caused His name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem

Ezra 6:1, 7, 12

Darius, King of Persia, also recognised Jerusalem as the place where the Jews were to build the house of God, as the God of Israel caused His name to dwell in Jerusalem. Darius even declared a warning of destruction against those who would try and alter and destroy God’s house in Jerusalem.

  • Artaxerxes King of Persia (approx. 465 BC – 425 BC)

Artaxerxes King of Persia… I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own free will to go up to Jerusalem

Ezra 7:12-13

Artaxerxes, King of Persia, decreed that all the people of Israel, including their Levitical priests, be allowed to go up to Jerusalem.

After the forced exile of the Jews into Babylon, we have listed three kings of Persia who also recognised Jerusalem as, the capital of Israel and Judah and, the place where the God of Israel chose for His temple to be located. King Artaxerxes of Persia was more than 100 years after King Zedekiah of Judah ruled in Jerusalem. Even after many years of Jewish exile, foreign kings still recognised Jerusalem as the capital of the Jews.

In this study, Jerusalem, part 1, we can see the following historical facts:

  • God instructed Abraham to offer his son Isaac on one of the mountains in Moriah. This is a type and shadow of God offering His Son Jesus. Jerusalem, in mount Moriah, is where Jesus was crucified.
  • The Lord chose Jerusalem as the city to put His name. At least 21 Kings of Israel and Judah (Jews) reigned from Jerusalem, for more than four and a half centuries. The ark of the covenant was brought to Jerusalem, and the temple of God was built in Jerusalem.
  • Even after the Jews were exiled from Jerusalem, three Kings of Persia recognised Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and the Jewish people. Jerusalem is the city where the God of Israel placed His name, and where He dwelt in His temple.

Dear Lord, in our generation the people of Israel are, once again, restoring their ancient city of Jerusalem. The most powerful nation in the world, the USA, has recently recognised Jerusalem as the capital city of the nation of Israel.

Please open our eyes to see your historical, and future, plans and purposes for Jerusalem. Show us what we should do to help the nation of Israel, who you have chosen from ancient times to establish and rule your city Jerusalem, to further establish Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. We pray this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
