Jesus Healed Them All!

Copyright © Andrew J. Shreeve 2007

There are many verses that declare to us, Jesus healed all that were sick:

They brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick

Matthew 8:16

All they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them

Luke 4:40

And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed. And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all

Luke 6:19

Jesus has not changed! His will is still to heal them all!

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever

Hebrews 13:8

The reason Jesus’ will has not changed is because Jesus is God and God does not change: for I am the Lord, I change not (Malachi 3:6):

God was manifest in the flesh

1 Timothy 3:16

And the Word was God… and the Word was made flesh

John 1:1, 14

Jesus Christ of Nazareth is God the Son. As God the Son, Jesus only did the will of God the Father. There is no division concerning the will to heal between the Father and the Son. God’s will is to heal them all:

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me

John 6:38

I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of my Father which hath sent me

John 5:30

Jesus, however, did his healing miracles not because he was God, but because he yielded to the will of the Father. The above verse says that Jesus of his own self could do nothing.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him

Acts 10:38

It was the anointing of the Holy Spirit and God’s power that enabled Jesus to heal all that were oppressed of the devil. God was the inspiration behind Jesus’ healing ministry.

Besides God’s love and mercy, which would compel Him to heal us all, the foundation for our healing is through the Cross of Calvary Jesus took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses (Matthew 8:17). This quote in Matthew is a direct quote from the redemptive verses concerning Jesus in Isaiah 53

Surely he hath borne our sickness, and carried our pains… with his stripes we are healed

Isaiah 53:4-5

It is clear that God desires us all to be healed, but how do we receive this healing power? Apart from the gifts of the Holy Spirit (which are as the Spirit wills), everything from God is received by faith, from our eternal spiritual life to our physical healing and everything in between (1 Corinthians 12:8-11).

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him

Hebrews 11:6

If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth

Mark 9:23

Faith, or belief, is the required ingredient to receive God’s healing power. This is because the Lord respects our free will to be sick, if we so choose. The Lord will never ‘force’ his healing upon us. The objective of this month’s teaching is to encourage us to believe it is the Lord’s will we all be healed!

Know today it is the will of the Lord for us to be in health. Let’s not settle for a life of sickness and disease. Let’s dig into the Word on healing and encourage our faith, for Jesus healed them all!
