Perfect Will of God

Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God

Romans 12:2

For many years as a committed Christian I was unsure if I was in the perfect will of God. I was trying to follow and obey God but I lacked certainty of God’s direction in my life. Maybe you feel the same way. Well I have good news for you! It is possible for you to move into God’s perfect will for your life.

I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a hope and a future

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

Whether you are fellowshipping closely with God, or not; God has a plan for your life! God’s plan is to prosper you, to bless you abundantly, and to give you a good future (John 10:10). You may say, ‘It sounds good Andrew but how to I get there?’

There are two areas you will need to focus your mind towards to enter into God’s perfect will for your life.

  1. The communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus (Philemon 6).

You will need to begin confessing the good things Jesus has obtained for you in his death, resurrection and ascension to the right hand of God the Father. You will need to renew your mind to your redemptive rights in Christ Jesus. This is done by daily, constant, meditation on God’s many covenant promises.

  1. The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14).

The second area you will need to direct your mind is to focus on praying in the Holy Spirit. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself (1 Corinthians 14:4). When you pray in unknown tongues your spirit prays (1 Corinthians 14:2, 14). Praying in unknown tongues edifies your spirit, builds you up spiritually so you are able to discern the things of the Spirit of God.

Decide to move into the perfect will of God for your life by renewing your mind. Confess the good things Jesus has made available to you and pray in the Spirit, tuning yourself into God. You will be surprised how easy it is to hear God’s voice, and what great blessings are waiting for you in the perfect plan of God.
