This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth

Joshua 1:8

Verbal confession of the promises of God will bring you into a wealthy place with God (Psalm 66:12)

Benefits of verbal confession of God’s promises

When we hear the Word of the Lord from our own mouth, we develop our faith (Romans 10:17)

We are receiving the seed of God’s Word causing us to bear much fruit (Mark 4:20)

We are pulling down strongholds in our mind (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

The Word of the Lord is like a hammer breaking the stony ground of our soul (mind, will, and emotions) to allow the Word to be planted into our heart (Jeremiah 23:29)

We are renewing, or renovating, our mind causing a supernatural change in our life enabling us to walk in the perfect will of God (Romans 12:2)

We are delivering ourselves from destruction and bringing healing (Psalm 107:20)

The angels come and minister according to the spoken Word of the Lord (Psalm 103:20)

We are wielding the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) attacking the enemy and forcing the enemy to retreat from our presence

We are submitting ourselves to God and resisting the devil through speaking out light as God’s Word is light (John 1:4), causing the darkness of the demons to flee from our presence (James 4:7)

The Lord hastens his Word to perform it

Jeremiah 1:12

As we verbally confess the promises of the Word of God we are developing thought patterns in our mind. We are training our mind to be in agreement with the Lord. This is true humility, allowing God’s thoughts to dominate our thinking. Pride elevates human thought and reason above God’s Word. God resists the one who in proud but gives His grace, ability, and strength to the ones who will humble themselves under his Word (James 4:6). Indeed, it is through receiving and walking according to the promises of the Lord that we will partake in his divine nature of love (2 Peter 1:4).

How to Meditate (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:2)

Meditation is the process of receiving the living seed of God’s Word into our soul (mind, will, imagination and emotions) and spirit. The art of meditation needs to be practiced and cultivated. To effectively meditate the promises of the Lord we must first set aside some time. Let’s start with one hour, for example. Get your bible and a list of some of your favourite promises (use my book "The Sword of the Spirit" if you need assistance as it has a good list of promises).

Find a quiet, private, and comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Put your phone on silent. Start to read a promise of God out loud. Continue to repeat the words of the promise over and over. Let the words sink into you. Let the words saturate your mind. Close your eyes. Use your imagination and see yourself in possession of God’s promise.

Remember we are in Christ therefore all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God (2 Corinthians 1:20). Remember that through Christ we have been made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21), this is the gift of God (Romans 5:17) received by faith (Romans 5:1). The promises are our legal right in Christ Jesus. We are heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Receive the promises by faith, receive them in your heart (Mark 11:24). Keep repeating the promises of God and receiving the Word into you, we are planting the Word into our heart (Mark 4:26). We are not just hearing the Word but receiving it (Mark 4:20)! Continue this process of meditation, receiving the Word of the Lord until all resistance in your mind is broken, until you can receive the Word with joy. Receive the Word of the Lord with joy, begin to celebrate, we have received God’s Word in our heart. Praise, worship and thank the Lord for his exceeding great and precious promises. Pray in tongues, shout, dance, jump, and celebrate the victory!

It is only a matter of time before the living, powerful, Word of God will conform our circumstances into agreement with the truth of God’s Word (Mark 4:27-29). This is the victory of the Word of Faith (Romans 10:8), the power of the resurrected Jesus!

Start today with positive confession of God’s Word. I guarantee your life will be blessed with the supernatural power of God as you daily verbally confess God’s promises. I love you, Andrew
