The Plan of Redemption

Through the disobedience of our ancestor Adam the human race became separated spiritually from our creator, and Father, God (Genesis 2:17). Instead, the human race came under the spiritual dominion and influence of the fallen angel Lucifer, also called, Satan or, the devil (1 John 3:10). Satan became the spiritual father of humanity (John 8:44). This explains all the tragedy, disaster, disease, and poverty in the world. These evils are not the work, or the will, of God rather they are caused by the influence of Satan (John 10:10).

God, in His love for humanity, chose to rescue us from the dominion of Satan including its consequence of eternal torment with Satan in the lake of fire (Colossians 1:13, Revelation 20:10, 15). Every human is created in God’s eternal likeness and therefore all humans are eternal by nature (Genesis 1:27). Humans will spend eternity with whoever they are aligned with spiritually. Through the incarnation, by the seed of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary, God came from heaven to earth (John 3:13, Matthew 1:20-23). Jesus Christ of Nazareth is God almighty in a human body (1 Timothy 3:16).

God became a human to remove sin, and sins penalty of eternal separation from God, from the human race (Romans 5:18). Jesus achieved this through offering himself as a sinless sacrifice for the sins of humanity (2 Corinthians 5:21). The sin of the world was placed upon Jesus Christ and Jesus was judged by God the Father for our sins (1 John 2:2). Jesus was cursed with the curse of the law, died, was buried, went to hell, was resurrected from the dead, and offered his blood in the heavenly Holy of Holies to remit our sins (Galatians 3:13, Acts 2:31, Hebrews 9:23-24, 26). Jesus then returned to the earth, was witnessed by more than 500 people over a period of more than 40 days, then ascended into heaven and now sits on the right hand of the Father (1 Corinthians 15:6, Acts 1:3, Ephesians 1:20).

Any human regardless of race, religion, and past sins or failures can appropriate this work of Jesus Christ into their person life and be declared eternally righteous with the assurance of the forgiveness of sin and eternal life with Jesus in heaven (Acts 17:30, Hebrews 10:14, Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 5:11-13). This is personally appropriated through faith in, the remitting power of Jesus’ blood, Jesus’ resurrection from the dead, and confession of Jesus Christ as Lord over their life (Romans 3:24-25, 10:9).

This is the good news of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to take away our sins, so we could be declared righteous and reunited with our creator (2 Corinthians 5:19, 21). This is a spiritual rebirth and in this experience our eternal spirit dies with Jesus is, released from the dominion of Satan, and recreated by God; and we are eternally, spiritually joined to God (James 1:18, Romans 6:6, Ephesians 2:2, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 Corinthians 12:13). We are now given authority over Satan (Ephesians 1:21; 2:6). Instead of being dominated by Satan we now have dominion over him through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 16:17, Philippians 2:9-10).

The gospel strikes at the heart of the issues of sin and its consequences. It deals with spiritual power and authority. The gospel gives us certainty concerning our eternal future. Thank God for sending Jesus Christ to be our saviour, rescuing us from the tormenting union with Satan, and liberating us into His kingdom of love. Make sure you are destined for heaven, and not the lake of fire, by expressing your faith through confessing the resurrected Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life.
