A fundamental question is: has God been able to preserve his Word in complete texts? The obvious answer is yes, God is able:

The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever

Psalm 12:6-7

Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them forever

Psalm 119:152

The above verses state that the Lord shall protect, guard, maintain and preserve His Words forever. God has settled and established His Words forever. Other verses along this same line include: Psalm 78:1-7, 105:8, 119:89, 111, 160, Proverb 22:20-21, Ecclesiastes 3:14 and, Matthew 4:4 (‘Defending the King James Bible’, D. A. Waite, 2002, p.6-8).

So what is the bible? What is God’s preserved Word? The Holy Bible is: The Traditional Masoretic Hebrew Old Testament Text, and the Greek Traditional Received Text, called ‘Textus Receptus’. These two ancient manuscripts are the Old and New Testaments and together make up the Holy Bible.

Any book or document calling itself a ‘bible’, or bible translation into another language, must be judged by its faithful copying, or literal translation, of these two ancient documents, which are God’s inspired preserved Holy Word.

In the last 130 years there has been a major attack upon the bible where we now have hundreds of ‘so called’ bibles. Before accepting a bible as a true copy of the authentic we must judge it according to its faithfulness to the preserved holy text and its accuracy of translation. This month’s teaching alerts us to the massive attack upon the Word of God in our generation and points us to the only real trustworthy source, and which English translation is a true literal translation of the real inspired ancient texts.

Divinely Inspired Old Testament: ‘The Traditional Masoretic Hebrew Old Testament Text’ was meticulously copied by the Jews over the centuries according to strict procedures (ibid, p.24). Jesus quoted from this text. To the Jews were committed the oracles of God (Romans 3:1-2). This text is the divinely inspired Old Testament.

Divinely Inspired New Testament: ‘The Textus Receptus’, also called: ‘The Traditional Received Text’, ‘Byzantine Text’, and ‘Syrian Text’, was the Greek text used by the church until 1881 - nearly 1900 years (ibid, p.40). Of all the ancient historical uncial, cursive, and lectionary manuscripts we know of, more than 99% of these manuscripts are the ‘Received Text’ - Textus Receptus (ibid, p.54). This text is the divinely inspired New Testament.

True English Bible: The King James Bible of 1611 used as its source and foundation the divinely inspired Hebrew and Greek texts - ‘The Traditional Masoretic Hebrew Old Testament’, and ‘The Traditional Received Text’ (Textus Receptus). 57 exceedingly, scholarly men laboured for 7 years translating a ‘word for word’ English translation of the original Hebrew, and Greek texts, resulting in the King James Bible (ibid, p.66). The translation techniques used were verbal equivalence and formal equivalence (ibid, p.89). Any editorial addition not in the original languages was italicized in the King James Bible.

False Hebrew Old Testament: In 1937 Rudolf Kittel produced a different Hebrew text following the Leningrad Manuscript. In Kittel’s ‘Biblia Hebraica’ there are 20,000-30,000 suggested changes based on 19 erroneous documents (ibid, p.21, 28). This text is not the true bible text.

False Greek New Testament: In 1881 Wescott and Hort produced a ‘Greek New Testament’ using corrupt manuscripts (ibid, p.58). Wescott and Hort were apostates and unbelievers (ibid, p.40). Les Garrett in his book ‘Wescott and Hort the Occult Connection and New Greek Text’ (Voice of Thanksgiving, 1997) says: Hort gave himself over to prying into the occult, and that he and Wescott started a society for the investigation of ghosts called the Ghostly Guild (p.22). The Wescott and Hort Greek text is not a true representation of the New Testament. The ‘Nestle / Aland Greek New Testament 26th edition’ is basically the same as the Wescott and Hort 1881 edition. The Nestle / Aland committee / editors also had 4 unbelieving apostates on it (‘Defending the King James Bible’, D. A. Waite, 2002, p.38). The Wescott and Hort text makes over 5,600 changes to the New Testament (ibid, p.41). The Nestle / Aland text is not the true bible text.

Modern Departure from the Truth: the modern deception lies in the assumption that God has not been able to preserve His Holy Scriptures in the original Hebrew and Greek, that we do not have complete inspired manuscripts (Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament) which we can confidently call ‘the Word of God’. This assumption that there is not ‘a true single bible text’ in Hebrew and Greek is the position held by the modern day publishers and their translators.

For the modern day publishing houses to copyright their bibles they had to make significant changes from the King James Bible. They had to change the English bible if they were to produce their own version and make money from the sale of their translations (1 Timothy 6:10). The NASV and NIV admit to using Kittel’s Biblia Hebraica. The New King James Version admits to using Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (which is similar to Kittel’s edition) (ibid, p.20-22). The ERV, ASV, NASV, NIV, NEB admit to using Nestle/ Aland’s Greek New Testament, or one like it, as the basic text to underlie their translations (ibid, p.39). Modern translations use as a foundation these corrupt manuscripts of Kittel’s Biblia Hebraica and Nestle / Aland’s Greek New Testament, as well as other dubious source material (ibid, p.20-21, 39).

A major difference between the King James Bible, and the modern translations, is the King James translator’s faith in the original manuscripts, or their faith in the true bible. By the modern translators using additional manuscripts and source material they are saying: we do not believe God has preserved an inspired text, we are unsure and therefore will use as our foundation all manuscripts, whether true of not, and use guess work as to what is really the truth. This modern approach, called ‘textual criticism’, fundamentally undermines the inspiration and authority of God’s Word. This is precisely the objective of Satan, who is the spirit working in the world to try and bring about the departure of true faith in God’s Word (Ephesians 2:2).

In contrast to our modern day translators, the King James translators believed they had ‘the true text’ of God’s pure inspired Word in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek, and they faithfully translated these Words into our English tongue.

Undermining the Foundation of the Truth: The devil has used corrupt men to attack the foundation of ‘The Word of God’, which is the true divinely inspired Hebrew and Greek texts of the Old and New Testaments (Mark 4:15). Modern English translations use corrupted Hebrew and Greek texts, and other untrustworthy source material. The modern English translations are also not ‘word for word’ translations of the bible, but use a method of translation called ‘Dynamic Equivalence’ where the translators take the liberty to change words. The New King James Version, for example, ‘has over 2,000 examples of Dynamic Equivalence where the editors have added to, subtracted from, or changed God’s Word’ (ibid, p.3). With most modern translations there are not italics to warn us of these changes. Our modern English bibles are not true translations of the original divinely inspired biblical Hebrew and Greek texts! They are not the pure Word of God! They contain parts of the Word of God, but are contaminated with non inspired source material (they use as their foundation, additional material which is not the inspired original bible texts).

A Trustworthy English Translation: The 1611 King James Bible however is a true and accurate word for word translation of the preserved divinely inspired original texts from the Hebrew (Traditional Masoretic Hebrew Old Testament Text) and the Greek (Textus Receptus) languages. Praise the Lord we do have a trustworthy bible in English – the King James Bible!
